FC Bayern have entered the final stretch under the legendary Jupp Heynckes. I would expect the great man to go out on his final Bundesliga games in a grandiose manner. Taking this emotional moment into account, the lineup might look like.
In the news on Friday, Bayern have announced that Arjen Robben and Rafinha have extended their contracts for another year.
- Arturo Vidal, Manuel Neuer, Kingsley Coman, Jérôme Boateng, David Alaba and Arjen Robben are all confirmed to be out of the game against Stuttgart.
- Alaba and Robben are suffering from injuries;
- Kingsley Coman is making huge progress;
- Manuel Neuer is getting there, Jupp is optimistic that he can be an option in Berlin.
Bayern will want to send Jupp out on a high as emotions will be high. I expect the best to get on the pitch. This lineup is more likely as there has been a good amount of rest for the entire squad in the previous week.
I expect the same forward three of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Müller and Franck Ribéry to start the match. While Lewandowski’s attitude has been very questionable, he is still the best striker in the team and is on verge of equalling a record so I expect him to start. Ribéry and Müller will be taking the wide roles.
I expect Bayern to give James a rest for the game to avoid any injuries, while also having the dynamic Corentin Tolisso and metronome Thiago Alcântara to provide the creative spark. Javi Martínez will most likely take up his destroyer role to shield the defence.
Defence and goalkeeper
With David Alaba out, I expect Rafinha to start on the left, Joshua Kimmich at his usual right-back role while Mats Hummels will partner Niklas Süle at heart of the defence with Sven Ulreich starting in goal.
