The reinforcements arrive in time for Bayern to face Hannover

Bayern’s long injury list went on a welcome diet. Die Roten boast a long and healthy list of players to face Hannover 96. The lineup will surely look juicy.
Thomas Müller, Franck Ribéry and David Alaba all return to the squad to face Hannover. The other die Roten currently stand tenth on the Bundesliga table, a mere two points away from Borussia Dortmund at fifth. This means that this could be a trickier game than it usually is.
With this in mind, here is how I think Bayern will line up.

My principle stands, as it has throughout the season: don’t fix what ain’t broken. David Alaba will likely start on the bench and get a few minutes late in the game. By now, we know Rafinha is a more-than-able understudy for the Austrian. Predictably, the remaining three spots go to Mats Hummels, Jérôme Boateng and Joshua Kimmich.

An overwhelming midfield

Arturo Vidal recovered his form after a few off weeks in the wake of Chile’s elimination from the World Cup. The Chilean returned to his usual self, namely vehement physical play and unbreakable determination. I think we will see him start. Meanwhile, Javi Martínez will continue to enjoy his comeback to the defensive midfield. Javi enjoys his football in the midfield and is tremendously more capable there than he is in central defence.
As much as I would like to see Sebastian Rudy get the nod in the Startelf, the truth remains that Vidal’s form and Javi’s solidity make it a tough sell. However, I am confident he will make a cameo appearance.

Finally, a monster attack

Heynckes said in the press conference that Thomas Müller will start. Given his return to form under Osram, this is great news. Bayern need his Raumdeuter mojo to get past tricky defences. Indeed, the team missed him sorely against Borussia Mönchengladbach. The tradeoff is that James Rodríguez will line up on the right. This is not his natural position, but he is capable of doing a good job there. Kingsley Coman will be called on to wreak havoc on the left.
Make no mistake, this is the sort of attacking midfield trio that can bring Bayern big things. After the debacle in Mönchengladbach, the team will want to get back on track. Leipzig are a mere three points away.
