Serge Gnabry joins Bayern after die Roten announced the transfer from Werder Bremen. The German international signed a three-year deal.
Last year, we saw a bunch of rumours regarding a Bayern move for Gnabry. The hoopla was such that we ran a piece covering the transfer which then had to be changed. Well, it turns out we simply were a year early to share the news. Now Bayern’s transfer dealings appear to have taken a surge as they have announced Gnabry (ha).
This time, unless Bayern pulls a massive trolling, the transfer is for reals. German media outlets reported the fee at around €8 million. This is good business for a young, exciting talent with reasonable international experience.
A good season at Bremen
Gnabry played well in the 2016-17 season. He made 27 appearances for Werder Bremen, racking up 1970 minutes in the Bundesliga. The youngster scored a total of 11 goals and made two assists.
In the international stage, Gnabry made his international debut with Joachim Löw’s Germany back in November last year. He played the full 90 minutes against San Marino, scoring three goals in the process. Gnabry also played in the Olympics, appearing in all of Germany’s games and ending up as the competition’s top scorer with six goals.
